Going Deep

Today was the deepest day in a winter of deep days. It was simply amazing. Not gonna lie, I could have gone for a bit more visibility, but I’ll happily take waist-deep powder from inside a snow globe. Eli and I went up for a one-and-done in Day’s fork. But it was way too good to stop, so we just kept going until the legs didn’t work anymore. Along the way we also ran into Bob, who’s a friend of a friend and was happy to share the stoke.

Now, it’s worth remembering that this is nothing more than an average snow year for Utah. The problem is that we haven’t had an average year since 2011, so this seems completely out of the ordinary. But winters like this is one of the reasons I moved here. I hope they come back again.

Eli headed up.

Dropping in on our first lap of the goods.

Going up for seconds.

And it just kept getting better.

Trenching!

Bob holding back the overstoker.

Back up again.

Headed out Flagstaff.

Bob dropping into the golfball.

So, so good.

I could see that car from here! If we could see for more than 10 feet.
