Back To Squamish

Well, we did a four-day loop of driving, and now we’re back in Squamish. Honestly, that’s just fine with me. This place is incredible, and I have a few projects I still want to complete. I managed to do one of them a couple days after returning.

On my first trip to Squamish, I hiked to Nightmare Rock to check out the hard trad lines there. On the right side are Sentry Box (5.12a), Perspective (5.11a), and Claim Jumper (5.12a). At the time, I hoped to one day be able to do the easiest of the three. As time went on, I hoped to one day send all of them. On this trip, Claim Jumper was the last one I had to do, and after a lot of work trying to figure out how to make it safe (there is a lot of hard climbing over an old rusty pin that could lead to a ledge fall), I finished it off. I am so stoked.

So, we’ve fallen back into the groove hanging out at the Chief parking lot, chatting with new and old friends, climbing, biking, and swimming in the lake. Life is pretty damn good here.
