Lover’s Leap

Since we were already in Lake Tahoe, it seemed like we should probably take a quick side-trip to Lover’s Leap and check out the unique style of granite there. Unfortunately, it was blowing about 40mph the entire time, so what was going to be a casual run up Corrugation Corner ended up kinda scary because it felt like the wind could just spartan kick you off the rock at any moment. But, it all went well and we got to do what is definitely the steepest multi-pitch 5.7 I’ve ever done.

Since the weather was fully moving in, we just did the one route and then bailed toward warmer climates. It’s going to be really interesting to be back in the desert after so much time away.

Jen on pitch 1 of Corrugation Corner (5.7)
Belaying the second pitch.
Jen in the business.
Trying to keep the hands from freezing.
The most awkward mantle ever.
Exiting the chimney on pitch 3.
Jen in the highly featured rock on the last pitch.
Nearly there.
Sideways ropes were pretty common with the gusting wind.
