Lord Of The Squirrels

Lord Of The Squirrels has been on my list for a long time. It’s the big ride in a place where a lot of the rides are big. The loop was about 15 miles and 3650 ft, a lot of it being very steep climbing. Jen was worried about doing a ride this big, but I convinced her that she’s probably in the best shape that she’s ever going to be, so now is clearly the time to go big.

I’m so stoked that we did (and so is she). It was a lot, but damn was it worth it. The trail above treeline is absolutely beautiful, and the riding is surprisingly good as well. You’re basically connecting alpine lakes along the ridgeline for miles before you finally start loosing elevation again. And once you’re back in the trees, it’s classic BC tech with roots, rock slabs, and the best dirt on earth.

If this trail is even remotely in your pay grade, go do it.
