Back Up North

A couple injuries have forced Jen and I to tone down our ambitions for the first half of our Canada trip, but we still managed to get in some great climbing these past few days in Squamish. I managed to send my first 5.12 on Squamish granite (Spiderfly… what a cool name…), and by the end of the trip we were able to do some multi-pitch routes and get off the ground a little bit. Plus, we got to climb over the water at Seal Cove, which was a super fun logistical problem to solve.

In addition to lots of routes, we’ve also seen lots of friends on this trip already. We got to surprise a good friend for his 50th birthday party during the drive up, and then we ran into our friend Annie immediately upon arriving in Squamish. A couple days later, Nicole joined us to add a little true Canadian flavor to the trip, although Jen’s getting a little more of her Great White North accent back with every day
