4 Years / 10 Years

Not only does this October mark four years of Jen and I being married, it also marks 10 years of us being together. Ten years… wow. That went quick.

That’s countless pitches of rock and countless miles of singletrack. That’s seven trips to Squamish, seven trips to Whistler, two trips to the Sault, one trip to Banff, one trip to Revelstoke, one trip to Europe, one trip to Hawaii, and more days in the desert and mountains around our home than I could count.

There have been a few broken bones and lots of assorted injuries, big whippers, deep powder, long approaches, long drives, lots of towers, a few walls, moto lessons, welding lessons, tons of bacon, several iterations of the bike quiver, cold ice climbing belays, unexpected storms, dawn patrols, PM patrols, “sick” days, Great White BBQs, star-filled skies, amazing friends, perfect campfires, midnight ER trips for staples, three dogs, two vans, and one bad-ass wedding.

In keeping with tradition, Jen and I headed south to enjoy the desert around Zion. In many ways it was just another weekend in the desert—but it’s also a reminder of how lucky I am to be able to spend this time with the woman I love more than anything in this world. I can’t wait for the next ten.
