More Squamish And Broken Calendars

Last night remained rain free, so Jen and I got to head over to the Smoke Bluffs for a few more pitches. Jen is still pretty wrecked from our dash up Angel’s Crest (during which I’m pretty sure we broke the record for a male American and female Canadian with a combined height of less than 11 feet climbing on a blue rope with three different brands of cams), so we took it rather easy. We decided on something called the Smoke Bluff Connection, which is essentially a linkup of four really good pitches of climbing which happen to be on tiers above each other.

We also got in a couple bonus pitches while waiting for slower parties to epic in front of us. The only real down side to the day is that we mis-read the calendar and drove down to Vancouver to pick up our bikes a day early. So, instead of spending another night in tent city and getting an early start tomorrow, we got to shower and sleep in a real bed but will have to settle for something less than an alpine start before we head back to Squamish and then back down to North Van for the second time.
