The Pass Provides

For the past three-day weekend, Jen and I joined a bunch of friends at the Wydaho bike festival. Fresh from our Whistler trip, Jen and I were hard to impress, and the riding at Targhee left us wanting. The trails outside the lifts, however, were excellent. And except for the drunk idiot almost hitting our friends’ shuttle vehicle, waving a spear gun around the parking lot, and then dropping a scuba tank at Austin’s feet, we had a pretty good couple of days. But… we just couldn’t drive all the way up there without spending a day at Teton Pass.

Jen and I managed to convince six of the crew that the pass was worth the drive, so we spent the last day of the trip doing some shuttle laps from a very full van. As it seems to do every year, the pass grew a few new jumps, thanks to the amazing work of some dedicated locals. The trails were in excellent shape after a couple days of rain, and Jen continued her season of progression by cleaning some things that she’s always walked previously. As for me, you couldn’t have wiped the smile from my face with a 2×4.
